LOWELL, Ore. – No. 17 Oregon State women’s rowing returns to action on Saturday, hosting No. 21 Gonzaga and Portland in a home regatta at Dexter Reservoir.
There are six individual races in Saturday’s meet, which starts at 9 a.m. when the OSU and GU 3V4+ and 4V4+ boats compete head-to-head. There are also individual races scheduled for 9:20 (2V4+), 9:40 (V4+), 10 a.m. (2V8+), 10:20 (1V8+) and 10:40 (3V8+ and 4/5V8+).
OSU was last in action on March 8, when it sent boats to both the Husky Open and PLU Invite. The second varsity eight boat of Grace Sansoterra (C), Alex Hutchinson, Elke Thursten, Katie Myers, Becca Logan, Isabella Mitchell, Tulla Angeley, Zoe Eberle and Corinna Sahu defeated British Columbia with a 14 second margin of victory.
After a second place finish for the varsity fours, the Beavers finished the PLU Invite with a pair of wins, started by the second varsity eights who crossed the finish line 21.1 seconds ahead of Western Washington; soon after, in the second flight, the varsity fours posted a 37.8 second margin of victory.
That victorious 2V8+ boat included Fiona Ryan (C), Abigail Schmidt, Addie Hornsby, Mattie Rowlands, Hannah Stively, Sophia Groshong, Vivian Strayer, Stella Teeters and Ruby Greaves, while the flight two varsity fours included Róisín Kruse (C), Kate Worley, Sophia Capouleas, Quincey Ludwig and Madison Ezzell.
The Beavs return to action on April 5, heading up Washington to compete against former Pac-12 foe Washington State.
