Pac-12 Football Kicks Off This Weekend Amid Pandemic

EUGENE – The Pac-12 Football season will kickoff this weekend and the first Jerry’s Home Improvement Game Day Show starts at 5:30 pm as the Oregon State Beavers game begins at 7:30 pm. The KORE college football program will feature local sports talk presented by Borrow Smart Mortgage and brought to you in part by Track Town Pizza, and Sheppard Motors. Jerry’s Home Improvement Game Day Show will offer fans Ducks and Beavers and Pac-12 coverage, “live” from the KORE studios.

This week the team will cover the Oregon State match up with Washington State. Oregon opens up play ranked No. 12 in the AP and No. 14 in the Coaches poll, and USC comes in at No. 20 in both polls. Arizona State, Cal, Utah and Washington are all receiving votes in the AP heading into this weekend.

Both the Utah/Arizona and Washington/Cal games have been canceled this weekend due to Covid-19 protocols.

“The Pac-12 has approved a request from Cal to cancel the Washington at Cal football game scheduled for November 7,” said a statement from the Pac-12 this week. “This decision was made under the Pac-12’s football game cancellation policy due to Cal not having the minimum number of scholarship players available for the game as a result of a positive football student-athlete COVID-19 case and resulting isolation of additional football student-athletes under contact tracing protocols. Under Conference policy, the game will be declared a no contest. The health and safety of our student-athletes and all those connected to Pac-12 football programs will continue to be our number one priority.”
