PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jillian Celis, Gr., INF, WASHINGTON (Corona, Calif.) >> 4 G, .571 AVG, 1.429 SLG, 8 H, 7 R, 8 RBI, 3 HR

  • Went 8-for-14 (.571) with six extra-base hits and 20 total bases as Washington improved to 16-2 with doubleheader sweeps of Maryland and Mount St. Mary’s during the Jane Sanders Classic.
  • Had a home run, two doubles and three RBIs in a pair of victories over the Terrapins (8-0, 8-6) on Thursday.
  • Added another double along with homers in each game and five total RBIs in Saturday’s sweep of The Mount (10-0, 13-3). 
  • First Pac-12 Player of the Week honor, first career weekly award for the San Diego State transfer.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: NiJaree Canady, So., P, STANFORD (Topeka, Kan.) >> 2-0, 2 G, 2 CG, 16.0 IP, 34 K, 1 ER, 0.44 ERA

  • Went 2-0 with two complete games, highlighted by a nine-inning victory over No. 5 Georgia, at the DeMarini Invitational.
  • Fanned a career-best 18 while allowing just two hits and one earned run in Sunday’s duel with the Bulldogs.
  • Also struck out 16 in a complete-game 7-0 shutout of Boise State on Thursday.
  • Second Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week award of season (2/12/24), fifth of career.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: Ava Gall, Fr., INF, STANFORD (Lakeside, Calif.) >> 3 G, .364 AVG, 4 H, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 R

  • Extended her hitting streak to six consecutive games with a hit in each of Stanford’s three wins during the DeMarini Invitational.
  • Provided all the run-support the Cardinal would need in a 3-1 victory over No. 5 Georgia on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs.
  • Hit two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Cardinal the upset of the Bulldogs.
  • Also registered a hit in two shutout victories over Boise State, including a two-run double in Friday’s 8-0 win over the Broncos.
