#Pac12Hoops: Pac-12 Represented by Six Teams in Women’s Tourney

EUGENE – For the first time in state history, both Oregon and Oregon State Men and Women made the NCAA Tournament as the Women’s Tournament tips off this Sunday, March 21.

Six Pac-12 teams (ARIZONA, OREGON, OREGON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA and WASHINGTON STATE) were selected to the NCAA Tournament, marking the seventh-consecutive time five-or-more Pac-12 teams have been selected to March Madness.

  • On Sunday, March 21 with top-seeded STANFORD, No. 8 OREGON STATE and No. 9 WASHINGTON STATE hitting the hardwood for their first-round matchups. Third-seeded ARIZONA and UCLA and No. 6 OREGON make their tournament debuts on Monday, March 22, and every first-round contest will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.
  • ARIZONA’s Aari McDonald earned Second Team All-American honors by the Associated Press while UCLA’s Michaela Onyenwere and STANFORD’s Kiana Williams were named to the Third Team. STANFORD’s Haley Jones earned Honorable Mention accolades.
  • STANFORD enters the NCAA Tournament ranked #2 in the latest AP poll, followed by #9 UCLA, #11 ARIZONA and #23 OREGON, with OREGON STATE receiving votes. Four or more teams have been ranked in the AP top 25 in every week this season.
