SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon true freshman Janice Tjen earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors following a pair of top-50 singles wins over the weekend against California and Stanford, the conference announced Thursday.

Tjen picked up a dominant win over No. 41 Haley Giavara of Cal on Friday, winning 6-1, 6-1 to put up the Ducks’ first point of the match. She followed that up with a 7-5, 6-3 win over No. 48 Michaela Gordon of Stanford on Sunday to put up the second point of the match and help Oregon to its first win over the Cardinal in program history.

She also teamed up with Lillian Mould to clinch the doubles point on Sunday vs. Stanford, winning 6-2 at the No. 2 spot to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Tjen and Mould lost for only the second time all season in doubles on Friday, dropping a 6-4 decision in pairs play.
