Head coach Trent Kersten completes the Oregon volleyball coaching staff.
EUGENE, Ore. – Former Oregon volleyball standout Lauren Page will return to Eugene as an assistant coach for the program as announced Thursday by head coach Trent Kersten. The Ducks also welcome Haley Stangle as the team’s new director of operations.
“I’m thrilled to officially welcome a familiar face in Lauren Page as our newest assistant coach and Haley Stange as our director of operations,” Kersten said. “These two hires round out our Oregon Volleyball staff, and I couldn’t be more excited about the team we’ve assembled. I’m confident this staff will help us move forward with purpose, passion and connection.”
Page is in the sixth year of her professional playing career and is currently playing with the San Diego Mojo of the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF). She registered a season-high 11 kills against Omaha (Feb. 20) and completed a double-double with 12 digs, another season high. In her first year in the league, Page is averaging 1.86 points per set to go along with 21 total blocks. Page and Ronika Stone, another past Oregon standout, both play for San Diego.
The Chino, Calif., native also played in the Athletes Unlimited during the 2024 campaign, and finished 24th overall on the player leaderboard. She was joined in the league by former UO teammates Willow Johnson, Brooke Nuneviller and Lindsey Vander Weide.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Trent for the opportunity to return to Oregon as an assistant coach,” Page said. “Being a Duck has always meant so much to me, and I’m beyond excited to be back in Eugene—a place I call home. I’m looking forward to continuing the winning legacy that this program is so deeply committed to, and to growing as a coach while learning from an incredible staff and working with such talented student-athletes. Go Ducks!”
Page also brings a vast international player experience to the Ducks’ coaching staff, having played in France, Germany, Portugal and Switzerland. Most recently, she helped lead FC Porto to a 13-0 record and the 2023-24 Portuguese Divisão 1 league title.
During her career (2015-18) at Oregon, Page helped the Ducks to four NCAA Tournament appearances including a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2018. In the regional semifinal, she had nine kills while hitting .300 coupled with six total blocks in an upset over No. 2 national seed Minnesota. Page finished her UO career with 499 kills and 284 total blocks, and was a 2016 All-Pac-12 honorable mention performer.
“Lauren represents everything we want our program to stand for: toughness, heart and a deep love for the game,” Kersten said. “Her perspective as both a Duck and a pro will be invaluable to our student-athletes.”
Stangle comes to Eugene after serving as the director of volleyball operations at Virginia Tech in 2024. Along with her day-to-day duties, she was responsible for managing the program’s budget and travel. Stangle spent the previous two years at Arkansas as a graduate assistant for volleyball operations.
The Boerne, Texas, native has a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Texas Tech and earned a master’s degree in recreation and sports management from Arkansas. Stangle also has experience as a marketing and communications intern at Texas A&M.
“Haley brings a strong background in operations, logistics and team support—the kind of behind-the-scenes excellence that makes programs run at the highest level,” Kersten said of Stangle.
With Thursday’s release, Kersten completes his Oregon staff with previous announcements of Giovana Melo as associate head coach and Sarah Smevog as assistant coach.
