CORVALLIS, Ore. – Following a .444 batting average in her first Pac-12 series, Paige Doerr was selected as the league’s Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Reaching base seven times in nine plate appearances against 21st-ranked Arizona, Doerr had four hits, including a home run on the first game of the Friday doubleheader. The Coburg, Ore., native drove in three runs, with two ofthem coming from a bases-clearing single in the second game on Friday.
Patrolling the outfield, she had an impeccable fielding percentage, converting on 10 putouts.
This marks the first league honor for Doerr.
Doerr and the Beavers will be back in action for six games in the next week, first taking on Portland State in a double header before resuming Pac-12 play at Arizona State this weekend and stepping back out of conference play at Grand Canyon next Monday.
