PORTLAND TIMBERS EXTEND PARTNERSHIP WITH SEATGEEK

Timbers use SeatGeek technology at Providence Park for eighth consecutive year

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced a partnership extension with SeatGeek, the high-growth technology platform transforming the live event experience for fans, teams and venues. The Timbers will continue to use SeatGeek’s ticketing technology to power all matches and events at Providence Park.

“Producing an exceptional matchday experience is a main priority of the Timbers, and SeatGeek’s partnership has been a major factor in achieving that over the years,” said Timbers Chief Revenue Officer Joe Cote. “Their innovative approach to ticketing sets us up for success and allows us to build community around soccer.”

Entering an eighth year of partnership, the Timbers were one of the first clubs in MLS to partner with SeatGeek back in 2017. Over the ensuing years, SeatGeek has significantly expanded its footprint in the league, growing its primary ticketing partnerships to encompass eight MLS teams. This sustained expansion and the recent extension stand as a testament to the effectiveness and appeal of SeatGeek’s technology.

SeatGeek’s strategic expansions and partnerships across major sports leagues, music, theater, and beyond—including partnerships across the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and the English Premier League—underscore the platform’s flexibility and appeal. Starting this year, Providence Park will be home to concerts with a sellable capacity of approximately 30,000, nearly doubling the next largest venue in Portland, with tickets sold through SeatGeek. The first artist to headline the stadium will be rock icons Foo Fighters, taking place Friday, August 16, 2024, as part of their Everything or Nothing At All North American tour, followed by headlining band Green Day and special guests The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas on Sept. 25, 2024 for The Saviors Tour.
