Portland Timbers Fall To Austin at Q2 Stadium

AUSTIN – The Portland Timbers fell to Austin FC tonight at Q2 Stadium 3-1 in their second match this week. Dairon Asprilla scored his fifth goal of the MLS regular season for the Timbers.

Asprilla scored tonight’s lone goal in the 55th minute when he received a ball from Diego Chara, dribbled towards the top of the box and shot from outside into the net. The goal was Asprilla’s fifth of the season for the Timbers.

The Timbers continue their stretch of five consecutive road games, traveling to Seattle for a match against Seattle Sounders FC on Aug. 29. Portland began this stretch with a midweek game at Children’s Mercy Park against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, earning a point on the road with a 1-1 draw on Aug. 18.
