EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon track and field team will close out the 2024 regular season Friday with the Oregon Twilight at Hayward Field. The Ducks’ seniors will be recognized on the track at 6:15 p.m.
The meet begins at 3:10 p.m. with the women’s hammer while the first in-venue event will be the “B” sections of the 1500 and 5,000 meters starting at 4 p.m. The ticket office at Hayward Field will open at 2:30 p.m. Fans can also buy their tickets early by clicking HERE.
In addition to Senior Day, the Oregon Twilight schedule will also feature community events that include a middle school mile at 4:47 p.m., a kid’s half-lap run with The Duck at 6:05 p.m. and the Warsaw Sports Business costume relay at 7:29 p.m.
The featured performance window begins at 7:49 p.m. with the invitational sections of the 800 meters, ending with the men’s invitational 5,000 at 9:10 p.m. The evening session will also feature top flights of the 1500 and steeplechase. The McChesney men’s 1500 meters is set to go off at 8:28 p.m.
Eugene native Maddy Elmore, currently ranked 11th in the country at 1500 meters, is scheduled for the women’s invitational race at 8:14 p.m. Elmore carries a season-best time of 4:09.36 from the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 11).
Among the UO entries in the field events, Jaida Ross will be competing in the discus at 5:10 p.m. Ross is the reigning Pac-12 Field Athlete of the Week after tying her own collegiate record (19.71m/64-8) in the shot put at last weekend’s Desert Heat Classic. The Medford, Ore., native has a season and lifetime best of 58.31m/191-3 in the discus.
The postseason begins with the final Pac-12 Championships (May 10-12) in Boulder, Colo. In just over a month, the nation’s best will gather in Eugene for the 2024 NCAA Championships (June 5-8) at Hayward Field. All-session and single-day tickets are currently on sale.
