EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon softball program will play eight fall ball games over the span of two weeks in October as the Ducks look forward to getting back on the field after a run to the NCAA Super Regional last season under coach Melyssa Lombardi.
Each game will have a charitable cause associated with it. All games will be played at Jane Sanders Stadium and are free and open to the public.
Oregon will open fall ball with a 10-inning game versus Corban Oct. 8 at 2:30 p.m. Oregon fans are asked to donate the Maui Relief fund to aid those devastated by last month’s wildfires.
“Socktober” kicks into high gear the following weekend when the Ducks host a pair of triple-headers. On Oct. 14, Boise State and Western Washington will play at 10 a.m. Oregon will then play back-to-back games with Boise State (12:30 p.m.) and Western Washington (3 p.m.).
The sock drive continues on Oct. 15 when Oregon Tech and College of the Siskiyous play at 10 a.m. followed by Oregon and COS at 12:30 and concluding with the Ducks facing Oregon Tech Sunday at 3 p.m.
The team will be accepting donations of new socks all weekend long.
The annual toy drive game will be Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. vs. Western Oregon. The only weekday game of the fall will be a 10-inning contest.
The fall season wraps up with another triple-header on Oct. 22. Oregon and Southern Oregon square off at 11 a.m. before SOU and Mount Hood Community College meet at 1:30 p.m. The fall season concludes later that day with a 4 p.m. game versus Mt. Hood.
The final games will be the fall’s cancer awareness weekend and canned food drive. Fans can wear pink and bring a non-perishable food item to donate.
Oregon went 38-17 a year ago and advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time since 2018. The Ducks return every player who pitched in the postseason – Morgan Scott, Stevie Hansen and Raegan Breedlove. Oregon also returns the starting outfield from 2023 – Ariel Carlson, Hanna Delgado and Kai Luschar – as well as three starting infielders – Tehya Bird (3B), Paige Sinicki (SS) and KK Humphreys (1B).
Oregon’s incoming freshman class was ranked 13th nationally by Extra Inning Softball. The class includes infielders Katie Flannery (Birmingham, Ala.) and Abby Steffen (Chula Vista, Calif.), outfielders Regan Legg (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) and Ayanna Shaw (Lemon Grove, Calif.), pitcher Taylour Spencer (Murrieta, Calif.) and catcher/utility player Braiesey Rosa (Waianae, Hawaii).
The Ducks also added graduate transfer Emma Kauf, an all-ACC catcher for Georgia Tech, and Trinity Holden, a sophomore utility player from Portland State.
