Three Ducks Named NFCA All-Americans

EUGENE, Ore. – Kedre Luschar, Rylee McCoy and Lyndsey Grein were named to the NFCA All-America teams announced Wednesday, while Kai Luschar was honored with the New Balance/NFCA Golden Shoe Award given to the nation’s top base stealer.

Kai Luschar leads NCAA Division I with 59 stolen bases in 67 attempts and ranks second nationally at 0.97 steals per game.

The senior from Carson City, Nev., is currently tied for the Big Ten season steals record. With one more steal, she’ll claim the conference record outright while also becoming just the 15th player in Division I history with 60 steals in a season.

Kai Luschar leads the Ducks with 82 hits, 63 runs scored – one short of the school record – 35 walks and a .517 on-base percentage.

Kedre Luschar, McCoy and Grein each earned All-America honors for the first time in their careers.

Kedre Luschar, a second team honoree, leads the Ducks with a .444 average., 17 doubles – one shy of the school record – and 61 RBI. She ranks in the Big Ten’s top five in batting average, doubles, hits and steals.

McCoy, who was recently honored as an NFCA Freshman of the Year finalist, was named to the second team. She leads Oregon with a school-record tying 19 home runs and leads all freshmen nationally in slugging percentage (.850). McCoy is hitting .399 with 58 RBI.

Grein is 29-2 on the season with a 2.08 ERA and 222 strikeouts. She is second nationally in wins and ranks 11th nationally in both strikeouts per seven innings (9.0) and fewest hits allowed per seven innings (4.56). Grein ranks the Big Ten’s top five in appearances, ERA, saves, shutouts, strikeouts and WHIP.

Sixteenth-seeded Oregon opens the Women’s College World Series Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time against No. 9 UCLA (ESPN2).
