Portland to face Chicago Fire in final preseason match on Saturday, Feb. 17
INDIO, Calif. – The Portland Timbers dropped a 1-0 result to the San Jose Earthquakes in their second match of the 2024 Coachella Valley Invitational at the Empire Polo Club fields in Indio, California on Wednesday afternoon. The team will close out the tournament against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m. (Pacific) before returning to Portland to host its regular season opener against the Colorado Rapids on February 24 at Providence Park; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) on MLS Season Pass the Apple TV app.Match NotesTwenty-two players took the field for Portland today, including 14 returners, three new signings, three T2 players and two trialists.
