TOUMANI CAMARA NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 4, 2025)The NBA today announced that Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara has been named Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month for February.

During a month in which he helped lead the Trail Blazers to an 8-4 record, Camara was the only player in the entire league to record 80+ rebounds, 20+ steals and 10+ blocks over the course of February.

The NBA’s season-long leader in charges taken with 25, Camara took four charges in February—tied for most in the league. His 24 total steals (2.0 spg) during the month were also tied for the fifth most in the NBA.

Over the course of the entire season, Camara has recorded at least one steal in 50 games—tied for second most of any player in the NBA.

During Portland’s Feb. 22 win over Charlotte, Camara was a franchise-record +45 during his 28 minutes of action.

Camara spearheaded a standout month on the defensive end for the Trail Blazers as a team, as Portland ranked fourth in the NBA in defensive rating (109.2), third in opponent 3-point percentage (.316) and ninth in opponent points per game (111.9) during February.
