Vandecasteele Earns US Open Qualifying Bid

NEW YORK – Oregon’s Quinn Vandecasteele has been named a US Open Qualifying Tournament participant. 128 men will compete for the final 16 entries in the 2023 US Open singles draw this week in New York.

Vandecasteele got the nod after a blazing hot run this summer that resulted in his first professional tournament win, as well as two other finals appearances.  In total, he enters qualifying with a 25-5 record this summer.

“Quinn has put together an epic summer and is so deserving of this opportunity,” Head Coach Nils Schyllander said. “We can’t wait to cheer him on this week in New York.”

The Murray, Utah native has climbed up the ATP rankings, jumping 500 spots to No. 619 after beating several top-500 opponents in the summer circuit. He is the first Oregon player to participate in the US Open qualifying tournament and will anchor the Ducks lineup next season.

Play begins Tuesday and matches will be available on ESPN+, with select coverage taking place on ESPNEWS. More details and future tournament draws are available at www.usopen.org.
