Timbers Add Aaron Heinzen To Radio Broadcast Team

Former Timbers player set to join 750 The Game as lead analyst

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers have added Aaron Heinzen to the radio broadcast team on 750 The Game as their lead analyst, the club announced today. The announcement comes on the heels of long-time analyst Keith Bleyer’s departure from the role after 12 seasons on the call.

Heinzen, a Timbers alum, made more than 50 appearances as a defender for the club in the USL era from 2002-2005. Upon his retirement from playing, he joined the Timbers radio team as an analyst, covering the team for five USL seasons (2006-2010). Heinzen also served as an analyst and play-by-play announcer for Seattle Sounders FC 2 from 2015-2017 and for the Pac-12 Network from 2016-2018. In addition to broadcasting, Heinzen has coached at the youth soccer club Washington Rush for nearly a decade.

At 750 The Game, Heinzen will join play-by-play announcer Fletcher Johnson and studio host Adam Susman in the booth. In their 14th season, 750 The Game—the club’s longest-tenured broadcast partner—will carry all Timbers matches in English, while La GranD is in its eighth season as Portland’s Spanish-language broadcast partner. As part of MLS Season Pass, fans in the US and Canada have the option to select the Timbers English-language radio feed for home games for their broadcast audio on the Apple TV app where available.

Up next, the Timbers will travel to face the Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field on Saturday, April 20. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. (Pacific) on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app in English and Spanish and local radio broadcasts, 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
